Boston is Open for Registration!!

Ready for 2009??  Walk...because you can't walk away!   We need a cure!

You can now register to be a part of the Crew for a Cure experience in Boston on May 17th-18th, 2009!

20 Strong!!

I am very excited to announce that this week we registered 2 new walkers and 1 new crew member and therefore our fundraising goal went up to $35,000.00!!   

A very warm welcome to walker Carrie Irvine and new crew members JoAnne Kinyon and Jamie Palmiere (Christy's husband) who will be helping Avon pull off everything that goes into the walk.   

If you are worried about raising the $1800.00, or don't think you can finish the walk but want to be a part of Christy's Crew - joining as crew just might be the perfect opportunity.

I am very excited to announce that Christy's Crew now has our second "crew" member, Christine Trudeau!

Christine is the sister of Michelle Carusone, a walker on the crew, and will be volunteering her time in DC working for Avon making sure the walk goes off without a hitch! 

Christine lives in the Washington, DC area, so we will be right in her backyard!

15th Walker, 16th Crew Member

A warm welcome to our newest walker, Jackie Bense!!   Jackie is our 15th Walker and the 16th member of Christy's Crew!

Jackie is a long time friend of Christy's from Kodak.   We are so excited to have Jackie join us!!

Christy's Crew Continues to Grow!

A warm Christy's Crew welcome to our first official Christy's Crew "CREW" member, Sharon Neenan!

Sharon is the mother of walker Traci Wenzel, and also my Aunt, and I am very excited to announce her registration! 

Sharon will go to DC with us in May, sleep with us in the village, and be treated just like a walker, but she doesn't have to raise the $1800.00 minimum because she will be working for Avon that weekend doing something in the hospitality area.   If you are interested in hearing more about joining Christy's Crew as a crew member, check out the Avon Site HERE.

A warm welcome to our 13th walker on the CREW, Ruth McElheny!   

Ruth was one of Christy's co-workers at Kodak and then later went on to join Christy at Coopervision.   We are so excited to have Ruth join us!!

I am very excited to announce we have our 12th walker!!    

I guess I need to raise my goal now to 20 walkers!   

Another very warm welcome to our newest walker, Karen Ballard.   I know many of the Victor parents are probably thinking, "I know that name from somewhere." 

Yes you do, Karin is the President of the Victor PTSA.    It is so awesome to see all of the community support for Christy and Christy's Crew.   

Do you know what having 12 walkers means?  $21,600.00 coming from JUST Christy's Crew.   We continue to be the top fundraising team for the Washington, DC walk.  Let's keep it that way!

On another note, tonight we went over $3000.00 raised as a team!   Add the money from this weekend and tonight, and some other checks waiting to be processed by Avon and we will push that above $4000.00!!   GREAT JOB CREW!

Another warm welcome to our TENTH walker!!   

This is big.   Why?   Because when I created Christy's Crew, in my heart I set a goal to get 10 walkers to represent this area on the walk.   Ten walkers meant at least $18,000.00 going to breast cancer awareness and research JUST from this area.   This is huge.   

And I couldn't think of a better person to fill that 10th spot.   Welcome Shannon Hersh, one of my best friends, who is one of the most amazing women and mothers that I know.   She has been involved in Christy's Crew events and fundraising right from the beginning, and was a vital part in the success on Saturday at Hang Around Victor Day. 

Shannon is the proud mother of three girls, and wife to her husband Steve.
