Today I attended an informational Avon Walk conference call to hear about all of the details of the walk. I will post some additional details from my call today later on, but one big thing that was brought up that I wanted to blog now was regarding Christy's Crew "CREW".
Afraid of walking? Have bad knees? Worried about raising $1800.00 (you shouldn't be, but....)? Want to support Christy and Christy's Crew but walking is just not your thing? Feeling like you are too "old" to walk?
You can still be a part of our magical weekend in Washington, DC by signing up to be on Christy's Crew as a CREW member. As a crew member you will assist other crew members by taking care of Christy's Crew and other walkers at the walk. "The Crew is responsible for setting up and breaking down the Quick Stops, Rest Stops and Lunch Stops along the route, as well as the Wellness Village where participants spend Saturday night. The Crew helps by serving meals, pouring water, picking up trash, and leading cheers. They provide directions bymarking the route, hanging directional (and inspirational) signage, and providing safety and security for all participants and the communities through which we travel. Specialty Crews provide expert medical care (including helping out with those pesky blisters and wrapping sore knees) and give massages. In fact, the Crew does just about anything and everything you can think of to support Walkers and their fellow Crew members."
As a Crew member, there's NO fundraising requirement but that doesn't mean you can't help Christy's Crew raise funds! Crew, too, can set their own fundraising goals, and receive the same support that Walkers do in meeting them.
Registration cost is still $55.00, and you will still be listed as part of Christy's Crew on our walk page, but you don't have to do all of the walking!
